Irene Mary Graham was born April 11, 1924 in Bald Knob, Arkansas. She retired after 30 years working for Maytag Company in Newton, Iowa, and had been living with her son and daughter in law Rudy and Gloria Graham in Carlisle before going to the Westview Care Center in Indianola where she passed, July 25, 2012.\nIrene was preceded in death by her husband Oscar Graham in 1983; parents John and Arizona Corbit; Brother J.T. Corbit; Sisters Dorothy Throckmorton, and Clara Throckmorton. Surviving is her son and wife Rudy and Gloria Graham of Carlisle; Grandsons, John (Irene) Graham of Virginia Beach, VA., and Jason (Nina Brandsfield) Graham of Carlisle; Great grandchildren, Mykaela, Kathryn and Colby; Brother, Olen (Corene) Corbit of Bradford,Arkansas; Sister Erma Jean (Norman) Pollard of Little Rock, Arkansas and two sisters-in-law, Irene Johnston of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Nathalee Halloway of Judsonia, Arkansas.\nIrene was a long time member of the Auto Workers Union #997 and attended the Carlisle Christian Church. She loved country music, trips to Branson and her grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle with visitation from 8:30 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Palo Alto Cemetery near Newton, Iowa after a luncheon at the Carlisle Christian Church.
