Marvin Clair Conant passed away peacefully on December 1, 2021, in Carlisle, Iowa. A visitation for both Marvin and Carol Conant will be held Monday, December 6th from 5-7pm at Peterson's Funeral Home located at 415 School Street, Carlisle, IA. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, December 7th at 11:00 am, also at Peterson's Funeral Home with lunch to follow.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nMarvin was born in Carlisle on March 31, 1938, to Harry Clair and Edith Helena (Schooler) Conant. Marvin met his wife, Carol, at Carlisle High School in 1953, where they fell in love and ultimately were married at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa in 1957: the beginning of a life full of love and many blessings. This hardworking, honest man loved family and always made sure they were provided for. He also enjoyed traveling (especially anywhere with a casino) and camping. Anyone who knew Marvin knows he was a jack of all trades; he was a master at anything from plumbing to mechanics. \r\n\r\n Marvin is survived by his children: Kim (Ken); Connie (Eddie); Doug (Kim); grandchildren: Zach (Leah); Parker (Jenna); Cody (Julia); Corrie (Boone); Katie (Joe); Jensen (Cam); Blake; Nathan (Nicole); Annie; 10 wonderful great-grandchildren; and siblings Chuck (Karen), Anna Mae. Marvin was preceded in death by: his bride of 64 years by only 12 days; parents; sibling: Harriet; and great-grandson, Preston Johnson.\r\n\r\n Memorials in Marvin's name can be made to St. Croix Hospice at 1555 SE Delaware Ave, Suite Q, Ankeny, IA 50021.
