Jerry Lee Curry, 72, of Mitchellville, passed away on January 28, 2022 in Des Moines, Iowa. A funeral service for Jerry will be held at 11:00am on Friday, February 4, 2022 at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle. A visitation will take place at 10:00am prior to the service. Burial will take place at Lowman Cemetery in Runnells. A luncheon will be served at The Hartford Sportsman's Club in Hartford, Iowa following burial.\r\nJerry was born on September 21, 1949 to Benjamin and Helen Curry. He graduated from S.E. Polk High School in 1968. Jerry worked construction as a laborer for over 35 years. He was a member of Laborers International Local 177. Jerry was an avid fisherman, hunter, and trapper. He was a proud member of Muskies Inc., Iowa Trappers Association, and the Turkey Federation. Jerry was the State of Iowa record holder for the largest Muskie caught in Iowa waters. \r\nJerry was survived by his son, David (Janelle) Curry; brothers, Bernard (Barb) Curry, Leonard (Robin) Curry, and Roger (Brenda) Curry; nephews, Brian, Adam, Levi, Daniel, Andrew, and Nate; nieces; Kandi and Erin; great- nephews, Gabe, Benjamin, Jonathan, Anthony, Aldon, Chase, and Keegan; great-nieces, Maddie, Sami, Meadeau, Hailey, Arianna, Autumn, Lillie, Ellie, and Maleah, aunts, Sharon, Rosella (Bob), and Dorothy; many cousins, friends, and fishing buddies.\r\nJerry was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jack, and his sister-in-law Jackie Curry.\r\nMemorials in Jerry's name can be made to Muskies Inc., or the Iowa Trappers Association.
