Pauline Emma (Rueter) Brink\n \nPauline passed away Thursday February 20, 2014 at the age of 95. Visitation will be Sunday February 23, 2014 from 6-8 p, at Peterson's Funeral Home, Indianola, IA. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 pm. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday February 25, 2014 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Ocheyedan, Iowa at 1 pm with interment at the Ocheyedan Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions will be used to fund a Nursing scholarship in Pauline's name. \n\nPauline was born January 28, 1919 in Edwardsville, IL to E.A. (Art) and Caroline (Wunder) Rueter. The family moved to the Ocheyedan Iowa area in 1920. Pauline completed Normal Training School at Iowa State Teachers College (UNI) and taught rural school in Osceola county from 1937-1952. She married Orville Brink March 3, 1946 at Zion Lutheran Church in Ocheyedan. The Brinks farmed near Ocheyedan until their retirement in 1979. Orville passed in January of 1995. Pauline moved to Heartwood Heights in Sibley, IA in December of 1999 and to Westview Care Center, Indianola, IA in September 2008. Pauline was an active member of the Osceola County Historical Society, the Federated Women's Club, PTA, Osceola Community Hospital Auxiliary, Legion Auxiliary, American Cancer Society, and St. Peter Ladies Aid. \n\nShe was preceded in death by her parents Art and Caroline; sister, Mildred Rueter; and husband, Orville. Surviving Pauline are her daughter Carolyn (Terry) Pauling of Indianola, IA; son James of Somerset, KY; grand-daughters Jamee Leigh Brink of Knoxville, TN; Shantele Brink of Sheldon, IA; and Lindsey Collett of London, KY; her great-grandsons Austin Hensley and Don James Collett; and great- granddaughters, Kiley and Melody Collett.
