R. Curry Obituary (1930 - 2013)

Fred R. Curry of Des Moines passed away at Des Moines Lutheran Hospital on Monday, November 4, 2013. A visitation will be held from 1-7 pm. Friday, November 8, 2013 at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle, with family present from 4-7 pm. Fred was born on March 8, 1930 to the late Fred and Minnie(Eliza)Curry in Polk County, Iowa. Fred worked for Local 74 as an asbestos worker. Fred's hobbies included fishing, camping, gardening, wood working, and anything that involved manual labor. Fred is survived by his loving wife of 63 years this month, Beulah of Des Moines; sons, Steve(Sandy)Curry of Runnells, Terry Curry of Pleasantville, and Stan Curry of Des Moines; daughter Nancy(Mike)Ritz of Des Moines; sisters Florence Goldsberry and Thelma Smith both of Carlisle; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Fred was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Don, Glen, and Ben Curry; sisters June Hayes and Betty Demoss. In lieu of flowers memorials are going to a bench to be placed at Howell Station Park at Red Rock Lake.
