Opal Irene Puderbaugh Obituary (1926 - 2018)

Opal Irene Puderbaugh, 92, passed away peacefully at the Bishop Drumm Retirement Center in Johnston Iowa. Opal was born June 6, 1926 in Knoxville Iowa to Henry Clayton and Loto Harned Agan. A private burial will take place at the I.O.O.F Cemetery in Indianola. No services are planned. Opal graduated from Knoxville Iowa, and Des Moines School of Beauty & Barber. She worked at several different salons over a period of 40 years in Indianola including Botkin's Barber Shop & Salon, and Dorothy's Beauty Salon. Although her passion was creating hair styles for her clients she also loved gardening, beautiful flowers & listening to all types of music. She often created her own patterns when sewing for herself and others. Opal loved travelling and took many trips to the Colorado mountain areas, as well as several European excursions. She collected photos of many things in nature including birds, mountains & ocean scenes. Her love of nature grew from living on a farm where she and her 6 siblings were encouraged to appreciate and get involved with nature. Opal lived in Warren County most of her life, but loved visiting her children, grandchildren and other family members on both coasts. Opal is survived by - three daughters: Rita Puderbaugh John--husband Doug John of Lees Summit Missouri; Connie Puderbaugh of Indianapolis Indiana, Beth Puderbaugh of Des Moines; 2 grandson Joshua Johnwife Erika of Cincinnati Ohio; Morgan JohnWife Christina of Louisville Kentucky; and 3 grandchildren; Twins -Bailey & William John & Rex John. She is also survived by sisters, Doris Jensen of Portland Oregon; Georgia Nguyen of Mason City, three brothers Marvin, of Newton, Harry & Howard of Milo Iowa; 1st cousin Catherine Wintermantle also of Indianola & many nieces, nephews, cousins & family members. Opal will be remembered by her family & friends as always willing to help others in any way she could. Opal was preceded in death by-her Husband: Harold Puderbaugh, her 2 sisters, Bonnie Agan & Mildred Trevallee and her parents Henry & Loto Agan.
