L. Sadler Obituary (1949 - 2012)

Wesley Sadler passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at the VA hospital in Des Moines. A memorial visitation will be held from 5-7 pm. Friday, August 3, 2012 at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle with military honors at 7pm and a reception to follow at Wesley's home. Wesley was born on October 21, 1949 in Des Moines, Iowa to Darwin and Daisy (Yerk) Sadler. Wesley was in the Marine Corps as a Flight Equipment Man during the Vietnam War and worked with the Marines following his discharge in 1971. Wesley received the National Defense Service Medal; Combat Air Insignia with 3 stars; Vietnam Combat Medal with Device; Gallantry Cross and a Good Conduct Medal. Wesley is survived by his wife Cheryl Wier; 2 sons; Ken(Missy) Sadler of Carlisle and Tony Sadler of Carlisle; step daughters, Nickole Pugh (Josh), Mindy Ruggles, KC Ruggles and step son Troy Ruggles. Sisters Leah Schaffer, Robin Jones, Rebecca Roberts and Stephanie Bragg; Grandchildren Mariah, Kobi and Kaden Sadler and stepgrandchildren Katlin, Madison Pugh, Tristen Ruggles, Abigail Wolfe and Macey Ruggles. Wesley was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Larry.
