Barbara Croat, 71, of St. Marys, Iowa, passed away Saturday, May 10th. She was born on March 30, 1943 to Glen and Theresa Garner. She graduated from Clarke County High School in Osceola, IA. After graduating she worked at the Younkers Cosmetic Department in Des Moines before marrying Michael Croat in 1962. She stopped working to take care of their children and it was during this time that she and her sister-in-law, Linda, started their own business called Croat's Country Crafts. Barb was a very creative and talented person who enjoyed being able to use her skills doing something she loved while still being able to take care of her family. Barbara was the most selfless, caring and kind woman that you could ever meet. She was a care-taker to many both old and young. She was known for her wonderful talent to plan weddings, bridal and baby showers, dinners and parties. She was called upon by not only family but friends to help with ideas and planning when there was an event. Family dinners, camping, her dominoes group, red hat events, listening to her sons sing, watching her grandkids perform in functions. These are the things that Barb loved doing over the years. Barb never met a stranger that didn't walk away a friend. This is what made her so special. \n\nShe is survived by her loving husband Michael; her children,Todd (Karen) of Indianola, Deborah Warner (David) of Norwalk, Brian of Indianola and Brad (Felicity) of Van Meter; grandchildren, Carl Ray Meyocks, Stephanie Fowler, Spencer and Brook Croat, Renee and Jacob Croat, Rachel Warner, Austin and Ryan Croat.
