Brigitte Smith Obituary (1931 - 2014)

Erika Smith of Carlisle, Iowa passed away on February 14, 2014 at The Shores in Pleasant Hill, Iowa. Memorial services will be held at a later date at the Carlisle City Cemetery. Erika was born December 14, 1931 in Delitzsch, Germany to Richard Titze and Berta Schuler. She Married Lester L. Smith in Mannheim, Germany in 1956. For 50 years Erika enjoyed living in Carlisle where she and Lester raised their four children. She enjoyed nature, gardening and most of all being with those she loved, both family and friends. Erika was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lester Smith and her 5 siblings; Lotte, Kurt, Helmut, Alfred and Heinz. Erika is survived by her son Mark (Jann) Smith of Indianola; daughters, Evelyn (John) Peno, and Penny (Richard) Harwood of Carlisle, Debra (Richard)) Rutledge of Hurst, Tx.
