Vernon William Jayne Obituary (1951 - 2017)

Vernon William Jayne passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at home in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle. Interment with military rites will follow in Berwick Cemetery in Des Moines. Vernon Jayne was born on January 18, 1951 in Des Moines, Iowa to Vernon and Patricia Jayne. Vernon joined the United States Army in 1969 where he received his G.E.D and served 2 tours in Vietnam. After his honorable discharge from the army, Vernon worked for 3E as a welder. Vernon is survived by his 2 daughters, Candi Jayne and Wendi Jayne of Des Moines; sisters, Kathy (Ray) Ameigh of Norwoodville and Pam Lehman of Grand River, and 1 brother, Richard (Cindy) Benton of Des Moines, and 4 grandchildren. Vernon was preceded in death by his parent; 3 siblings, Ricky Jayne, Tommy Lee Jayne and Sandy Torrey. Memorials may be directed to Vernon's family.
